1) LISTEN
Films, tv series, YouTube videos, songs…but you can also listen to the radio or to podcasts (while you’re doing something else!).
You can find UK radio stations HERE
These are my favourite podcasts specially designed for English learners:
The podcaster, Alberto Alonso, is bilingual in English (American) and Spanish, so you’ll also learn Spanish 😉
2) READ
You can read newspapers, magazines and books. Here are some links:
You can find a list of recommended BOOKS here.
3) SPEAK
If you don’t have a language partner, you can try these apps. LOORA is an AI English teacher you can interact with.

PRAKTIKA: https://praktika.ai/
Alternatively, talk to yourself! Speak in front of a mirror or record yourself. If you find this too strange (it isn’t!), you can always think in English—nobody will notice.
Another idea is to start a conversations club with your friends. You could pick a topic and meet up for coffee, or connect via video call. If you need ideas to break the ice, here’s a list of conversation topics, complete with questions: https://eslvault.com/conversation-topics/💬
4) WRITE
Text your friends, send them an email, or even an old-fashioned letter—why not?
Another idea is to start a diary in English or write something creative. Have you ever heard about “The Imaginary World of…”? Take a look at this video to find out how this unconventional book is designed:
If this book is not your cup of tea, but you still want to practise writing and have immediate feedback, try this:
This website is wonderful for preparing for English certificates. Your texts are corrected automatically (the score you get might not be the most accurate, but this tool is still great).
5) PLAY
Learning a foreign language is fun. Have a look at these websites:
